Smart Bro Is Very Problematic

I can’t think of any good reason why anyone would get Smart Bro once they become aware of all the problems that SmartBro has to offer. First, SmartBro is problematic to use for downloading torrents; Second, SmartBro is also problematic to use for downloading in sites like RapidShare and MegaUpload. So, what’s with the “Sabay-sabay download” jingle if even one download is already very problematic?

SmartBro speed is very problematic. When I first got my router, I suffered a mere 30kbps connection speed. It increased a bit after constantly (almost every day) calling the hotline. But then, it would slow down again after a couple days and I would have to call the hotline again. If you subscribe to SmartBro, you will be paying a lot only to suffer all of these problems. SmartBro is nothing but problems. If you don’t beleive me, you’ll soon find it out yourself. But by then, you are already locked in. Get SmartBro only if you find it stimulating to memorize your SmartBro account number and to call SmartBro’s hotline daily for a chat with the bored CSR who just got smacked by the previous caller.

SmartBro connection is also very problematic. You get connected, disconnected, reconnected and disconnected all the time. That’s funny because one of the reasons that attract people to SmartBro Plug-It and SmartBro Share-It is mobility. You can theoretically have an internet connection anywhere where there is an HSDPA signal and an outlet in the case of SmartBro Share-It. But in practice, this is not the case. Connection is very problematic even in a fixed, well-placed location. Get SmartBro only if you find it fun to confuse your Skype or Yahoo Messenger buddies when they see you logged-in …and out …and in …and out again.

Overall, Smart Bro is nothing but problems. Get it only if your resume states: “Likes problem solving.”

  2. Hi there. I already called your customer service hotline a number of times since I acquired my Smart Bro Share It Router. I have already visited Smart's wireless centers more than a few times, too. On the average, I place three to four calls to your hotline each week in the hope that my connection gets better. Sadly, there are no significant changes. Sometimes, it does get better just a bit but only for about a day or two. Then, it creeps again and I have to call back. It has been going on like this and, quite frankly, is getting to be a tad irritating. But maybe I'll try this email and give it a shot. I don't have high hopes, though. However, thank you very much for dropping by.

  4. @alrick13, results? Here I am, still connected to this problematic service. And you are right. If this email could really help, then their customer service should have referred to it. It would seem that they can only cater to a few subscribers out of all PAYING subscribers so they prioritize the noisy ones. So go make some noise. Blogging your concern doesn't seem to be such a bad idea. After all, a lot of blogging platforms are free. Let's exercise our freedom of speech.

  5. Cool blog man! as you can see I too am suffering from their trap since I am just a kid and wants to have an internet connection so fast I fell for it... Well here it is I'm using it for almost 2 weeks from now and I do get their crappy 15kbps speed. WTH is this..

  6. I think SmartBro is only problematic for the plug-it and the share-it services.. I'm a smartbro user for about 3 years already, and I've got no problems with the connection. But I tried the plug-it, and yes it has a very slow connection and I tend to always get disconnected.. >__<

    I'm 1-1/2 year user of SmartBro. I'm now experiencing intermittent disconnection problems. I've emailed the ISMS@smart.com.ph just to see what their response is to this current problem I have now, at this moment.

  10. all of you.are ryt..and aside of connection problem they wont give...the billing statement.on time..so i drop.in wireless center in trinoma.ask..for a number...then wait for der call.,,and ask how much my bill..its to much hassle...i am one of there customers...paying monthly bills....i think i need to take a proper service from them,,,im hoping when you get read this comment...again and again..i cant count my report regading this matter......pls give the billing statement on tym..its not just for meh for all your customer ..for the sake of your company...if you continous dis kind of simple problem..expect your customer.would lost..im not kidding.basic problem problen could not solve wat kind of big company are you....

  11. Smart bro sucks.... I've reported my intermittent connection for more than 2 months now and still they cannot fix the problem. Customer service always says they have technical issues at base station. For more than 2 months not fixed? I'm tired of your PALUSOT...
    Overall, never try this broadband service...

  13. ^same here.. tapos sabi nila ireport daw kapag nawalan ng load, nawala before mag expire. pero magkano naman gagastusin ko pamasahe para lang ireport yun nawala kong load. madalas kasi 30 niloload ko, eh magkano pasamahe papunta sa smart comm. samin abot na ng 30.. tapos yun smart bro ang bagal ng connection + lagi nadidisconnect. nakaconnect ka nga madalas naman 0mbps internet connections mo.. hayz.

  15. If you need fast and stable wireless internet, go to Japan, Korea or US. If you can't go there, you had better regard all these inconveniences as sort of a TAX of living in the philippines... I'm sure that whatever you do, Smart will not care. There are only poor CSRs who can't decide anything like us. Funny thing. Smart is even at least twice expensive than other country's providers. what a beautiful company :)

  17. sad to say, i've been also trapped in this bullshit smart bro..just had it almost a month now..from the first day it has been installed i already had the problem till now...often had the speed of 0 - 10 kbps ..it may go up to it's excellent speed but just for a glance then back to 0-10 again..it really sucks..frustrated :((

  18. same thing with me we are using smart bro share it and we have no internet connection for two months and they will not give us any rebates because we don't have any report will in fact we keep calling their customer service ever since we apply for it because of it's very slow connection.

    Same here. Almost a year user of Smart Bro Share-It and still no changes. It usually disconnects especially at night. I keep changing channel which I find a temporary solution in the disconnection. The speed is good but sometimes slow down very dramatically.

  23. hi, napakabagal ng connection ng smart bro. gusto ko na siyang ipadesconnect, pero meron daw pre termination fee. 2 months plang akong user ng smartbro. then 2 years yung contract. Sana nakinig nalang ako sa mga kaibigan ko. mabagal talaga ang smartbro.

  33. Very weird talaga internet connection ko with SmartBro. Receive rate umaabot lang ng 300KBPS tapos lately, bigla na lang nag 0KBPS. May load naman. Kelangan idisconnect tapos iconnect ulet. Tapos, magbibigay na naman ng 300KBPS, after 5 minutes, mag 0KBPS na naman. Hai... Sakit sa ulo. Mamamatay ako sa sakit sa puso nito. Punyetang SmartBro

  34. Hi John, I had the same problem as you with both canopy and the plug-it device. With the canopy it was years back while for the plug-it just around this time and am stuck with it for the time being. I have documented my experience with the plug-it to a post I titled Smart Bro always disconnecting. I have also made an analysis as to the throughput (upload/download speeds) which I document it on a post titled Smart Bro DNS vs Google Public DNS. I agree with you that SmartBro/MyBro servers could not accommodate all their subscribers properly to provide with their much hyped broadband speed. At the end of the day, all that lightning speed internet connection is all hot air.

  36. Sad news for Smart Bro subscriber. These past few days we experience

    very weak signal from Smart. Imagine from 120 kbps it goes down to

    shocking 20 kbps speed. And with that kind of speed you cannot open a

    single webpage ,.... and its all because of Smart new policy. Seems

    that UNLIMITED INTERNET IS NOW LIMITED !!! They said that this past

    month they implemented that metered bandwith allocation for

    Residential subscriber. Meaning if you had consumed the allocated

    bandwith on the first week of the Month,... the the next 3 weeks is a

    big headache for the consumer.

I've been using smartbro for more than 1 year, then they called me to inform that they have a promo regarding the extension of the contract. i agreed naman na i extend ng 6mos, wala naman akong na encounter na problems ever since. Mabilis sakin ang internet compared to pldt dsl subscribers. But now, my internet keeps on disconnecting, nkaka disappoint lng di pa naman natatapos ang contract ko pero bakit parang bumibigay na ang service nila? any help on to fix this? 2 days ng ganito net ko. Disconnect/ Reconnect............................
